4x5 Lego Camera
This is a homemade 4x5 camera made entirely out of Legos, aside from the lens and lensboard itself. It has a full focusing range of infinity to close to macro, and is mounted with a 135mm lens. There is no modification of any blocks which allows me to make quick changes as needed. There’s no black coating on the inside, which allows for light leaks, color shifts, and reflections off the blocks to affect the final image. My idea behind the building of this camera was to have that be creative using a favorite childhood toy of mine with my love for 4x5 cameras. Large format cameras are relatively the simplest form of a camera that is currently out there and the use of Legos bring that to light.
All images are from the first round of successful testing from this camera. There are visible light leaks (as well as user error while developing) but show a very usable image.
